NOTICE OF INTENT TO ADOPT PROPOSED PRELIMINARY 2014-15 BUDGET

CENTENNIAL SCHOOL DISTRICT

 

 

The Centennial Board of School Directors, in conformance with Pennsylvania Special Session Act 1 of 2006, hereby gives notice that a proposed preliminary fund budget for Fiscal Year 2014-15 in the amount of $104,757,995 is currently on display for public review. The Board of School Directors is scheduled to review and adopt said general proposed preliminary budget at its regular meeting scheduled for Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at 7:30 p.m. in the Johnsville Administration Building Board Room, 433 Centennial Road, Warminster, PA  18974.  Copies of the proposed preliminary budget are available in the Office of the Business Administrator, 433 Centennial Road, Warminster, PA  18974 Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

PUBLIC NOTICE

 

INTENT TO SUBMIT REFERENDUM EXCEPTION APPLICATION

 

The Centennial Board of School Directors hereby serves notice that it has authorized the preparation and submission of application for any referendum exceptions permitted under Special Session Act 1 of 2006 for which the District is eligible to the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE). Act 1 of 2006 permits districts to apply for referendum exceptions to provide for an increase in real estate taxes above the state-wide index without voter approval should anticipated expenses in the upcoming budget year be above the tax rate permitted under the index. Said application to for referendum exceptions will be submitted not later than March 6, 2014 to the Pennsylvania Department of Education.  The District’s Preliminary 2014-2015 Budget, approved by the Board of School Directors on February 11, 2014 is currently over the state-approved Act 1 index of 2.1%. This action to apply for eligible exceptions is taken to certify District eligibility for the retirement contribution exception and any other exception the District may be eligible. Copies of all referendum exception applications will be available for public review when complete and are available by contacting the District’s Business Office, 433 Centennial Road, Warminster, PA 18974
