    Good evening McDonald Families,

How about that weather on Thursday night, right? Who would have thought we would have our first closure of the year so early and due to tornado type conditions! I hope everyone was unscathed by the weather as we begin the month of November.

Tomorrow is Monday, November 4th and it will be a day 6 in our cycle rotation. Here is what we have going on for this week:

    • November 3rd – Daylight Savings
      • Turn the clocks back 1 hour (an extra hour of sleep!)
    • November 4th – 5th Grade Committee Meeting – 6:00 PM in library

    • November 5th Schools are Closed
    • November 8th – Veterans’ Day
      • First annual Veterans’ Day - 9:20-10:20

Boys and girls, we are now in the month of November, which is my favorite month! Do you know why it is my favorite month? It’s my birthday month! Oh yes! Boys and girls, once you are 40, I was told you can celebrate your birthday all month long! I just have to get Mrs. Ortiz, Julian, Ana, and Nicholas to agree. They seem to think it should only be one day. I say, no way! All month. What do you think boys and girls? Also, what month is your favorite month and why? If you tell me, we will take a selfie.

Parents, looking ahead to the following week, here is what we have on the calendar:

    • November 11th –  Early Dismissal
    • November 13th – Chick-Fil-A Night
      • 4:00-8:00 PM – new families be warned, the McD community takes over Chick-Fil-A. There will be a lot of McD support during this night. Plan accordingly, ha!

Posted by Ernesto Ortiz on 10/27/2019 6:00:00 PM

    Good evening McDonald Families,

We had a magnificent turnout for our Trunk or Treat event on Friday night. I wanted to thank our Home & School Association for their planning, organizing, and preparation for the event. Also, I wanted to thank everyone who took the time to decorate their trunk and transform our bus loop into a haunted area. Also, I wanted to thank everyone who donated bags of candy to make sure we were able to make it through the night. There was no trunk or treater left behind! It was an awesome night.

Tomorrow is Monday, October 28th and it will be a day 2 in our cycle rotation. Here is what we have going on for this week:

    • October 31st – Halloween Parades (inside if it rains)
      • 12:45 - 1st grade parade
      • 1:20 - 3rd grade
      • 1:30 - Kindergarten
      • 1:40 - 2nd parade
      • 2:00 -  5th grade
      • 2:15 - 4th grade
    • November 1st – scheduled 2-hour delay day
      • Doors open at 10:25 AM

Boys and girls, after trunk or treat, I have to admit something to you. But, you have to promise not to tell my son Nick or my daughter Adriana. When they weren’t looking I took some Kit Kats out of their candy bags after Trunk or Treat. I was wondering, do your parents do the same thing? If so, what candies do your parents look for when they are going through your candy bag? If you tell me, we will take a selfie! I know I am not alone in this, am I?

Parents, looking ahead to the following week, here is what we have on the calendar:

    • November 3rd – Daylight Savings
      • Turn the clocks back 1 hour (an extra hour of sleep!)
    • November 8th – Veterans’ Day
