Elementary Reading/English Language Arts

  • Reading/English Language Arts (RELA)

Research shows that best practice in the area of Reading/English Language Arts stems from a program that is centered on readers who can comprehend, extract pertinent information, problem-solve, and be reflective.

During the RELA block, students will learn skills within phonics, fluency, grammar, comprehension, analysis, speaking, listening, and writing using text-based evidence to support their ideas. The model used supports students in different modalities: whole class, small group and independent practice.
