New District Initiative Aims to Close the Gender Gap in STEM

Kicking off Women's History Month, William Tennent High School students gathered on March 4th, to discuss their STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math)  experience in Centennial School District. The STEM Gap Initiative is an extension of the work done in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Centennial and aims to support girls' interest in subjects in which they are historically underrepresented. Having an open dialogue with our female students is just one way Centennial is working to understand our students' experiences in STEM to create an inclusive environment where access and success are possible for all.

WISE Club Publishes the First Issue of WISE the Magazine

The Women in Science & Engineering Club at William Tennent have been hard at work creating WISE the Magazine. For the past several months, students have conducted interviews, carried out research, and written articles with the goal of celebrating the contributions of women in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Mathematics) fields. The magazine serves to highlight the accomplishments of female high school students and recent graduates as well as established professionals in the community.  Additionally, the publication showcases upcoming opportunities for enrichment such as internships, summer programs, camps, clubs, workshops, and competitions.
