FOOD SERVICE BACK TO SCHOOL 2022 & SUPPLY CHAIN ISSUES

• Each day, our school nutrition staff looks forward to serving healthy school meals to fuel our students for success.
  
  
• This school year, thanks to the State, all students will be offered free breakfast, starting October 1st, regardless of family income.
  
  
• School meal programs nationwide are experiencing many of the same supply chain issues that have impacted restaurants and grocery stores throughout the pandemic.
  
  
• Our school nutritional team is committed to ensuring students continue to have access to healthy meals each school day.

• Just as families had to make substitutions on grocery lists last year, schools will have to make some last-minute changes to our regular menus, based on availability.
  
  
• We hope parents and students will be patient as we sort through these supply chain issues.
  
  
• We may not have the same number of menu choices that we typically offer our students, but we’ll be sure that all students are nourished and ready to learn.
  
  
• Please make sure to download the MealViewer app on your mobile devices or visit our website as there can be daily substitutions due to these supply chain issues.

The CSD Food Service Department is committed to supplying healthy meals to our students and making sure no child goes hungry.

Please note we are encouraging parents to apply for the free and reduced program, due to other benefits that may be available either with the district or outside of the district.
