K-12 Science Vision Statement

The Centennial School District will ensure that all students will leave our K–12 education program able to understand and use scientific practices to deepen their understanding of the world around them, to form a scientific "conscience" so as to become good stewards of the Earth, and to grasp the ethical dimensions and role of science in human experience.

Secondary Science Instruction

The Centennial School District is committed to providing a rigorous, research-based, and NGSS standards-aligned science curriculum. The science curriculum is phenomena-based; students take on the role of a scientist or engineer to investigate a real-world problem which creates relevant contexts through which students investigate science. In addition, the science curriculum blends hands-on investigations, literacy-rich activities, and interactive digital tools to empower students to think, read, write, and argue like real scientists and engineers.
