Welcome to the Centennial School District’s Reopening Resource Center. It is our hope that we can provide significant information to you regarding our plans for the opening of schools in September.
Staff members representing administrators, teachers, support staff and Board of School Directors are working on our state mandated Health and Safety Plan. Three subcommittees have been created to develop three options for how schools may open in September. We expect that a draft of their work will be completed by the end of July.
In the interim, important information will be posted here for you to review. It is our intent to provide you with information that is informative and timely.
Five critical documents are part of our first posting. Each one of these documents will provide you with crucial background information on how the school district Health and Safety Plan may look and what resources are shaping the Centennial plans.
The five documents are:
PA Deptartment of Education Health and Safety Planning Template
This template will provide you with an overview of what components will be included in the Health and Safety Plan.
Guidance for Reopening Schools in Bucks County
This document contains recommendations from the Bucks County Health Department relative to how schools might approach the opening of school in September.
FAQ on School Opening
This communication was provided by the Bucks County Health Department.
A Report by the American Academy of Pediatrics Society
This report is from a prominent medical association regarding how schools may approach the opening of schools in September.
Considerations for Reopening Schools
This report issued by the PA Department of Education and includes advice from a prominent research group.
Results from our recent parent survey are included for your review. We wish to thank all of you who participated. Please know that your responses will help to develop our plans.
It is apparent from parental responses that at least one more parent survey is necessary. We will ask parents to participate in another survey in late July. You can expect the next survey to have substantive information on school options and critical items such as masking, health, social distancing, cleaning protocols and school busing.
We know this is a difficult time. Please know that the Centennial School District is developing our Health and Safety Plan with the utmost care and our intent is to provide a healthy and safe environment for your children.
Finally, we want to respectfully remind you that the Centennial Board of School Directors and the PA Department of Education must approve our plan. We fully expect to accept input from you regarding aspects of the plan prior to asking the Board of School Directors to vote on our plan.
