I've been a reading specialist in the Centennial School District  for over eighteen years.  Prior to this assignment, I taught first grade, fourth grade, and fifth grade.  I received both my undergraduate and post-graduate degrees from Gwynedd-Mercy College.  I've also attained a teaching certification in early childhood, reading specialist, and the Orton-Gillingham approach to teaching reading. I am part of the Instructional Support Team.  The Instructional Support Team is working actively with students from Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. It is a privilege and an absolute honor to work with the students, faculty, and parents in the Centennial School District.

This year the Instructional Support Team is working actively with students from Kindergarten through fifth grade.

All Willow Dale students have a separate writing special in rotation with Health and Guidance, which equates to approximately once per month.  I teachMrs. Dougherty grades three through five.   Lessons are developed around the five focus areas of the grade level rubric: Focus, Content, Organization, Style and Conventions.  We will use mentor texts to help students understand author's craft and to begin to see themselves as writers.  We will also focus on skill development.
