Welcome Back!!

As an educator, no matter how many times I look towards fall and the beginning of a new school year, it still amazes me how quickly the summer months pass us by!  It is my sincere hope that you and your family have enjoyed your summer and had the chance to rest, rejuvenate, and get ready for the 2016-2017 school year at McDonald!

I am so excited to enter my second year as a Bulldog and look forward to welcoming back familiar faces and meeting the newest Bulldogs as they enter the building on Tuesday, August 30th.  As an administrative team, we have focused our summer on continuing to refine our vision for McDonald Elementary and Centennial School District as a whole.  We are committed to creating learning environments where innovation, risk-taking, and student passion take center stage.  Our teachers are busy setting up the spaces that will immerse your children in a year-long adventure where the power of “yet” will be a driving force.  Throughout the year, I hope to partner with you in dialoguing with your child(ren) about the power of “yet”.  If your daughter mentions, “I don’t understand how to divide multi-digit numbers,” our goal will be to rephrase her statement by saying, “You don’t know how to divide those numbers…yet”.  If your son says, “I haven’t made any new friends,” we will encourage him by saying that he hasn’t met his newest friends “yet”. The power of “yet” can be a game-changer and our goal is to form a partnership with common language between home and school. Think about what your child could accomplish if he/she doesn’t feel confined to meet success immediately, but instead has the opportunity to tackle challenges using perseverance and grit.    The ceiling is limitless and the chances for growth are endless.  Our Bulldogs are up for these challenges and I look forward to being a partner in their success.

I look forward to working with each and every one of you throughout the school year.  Please know that should you need to speak to me for any reason, I can be reached via phone at 215-441-6157 x 16002 or via email at franje@centennialsd.org.

I wish everyone a restful August and look forward to seeing you on the 30th!
