Assessment Information for Centennial School District

The Centennial School District recognizes that assessment is an integral part of the teaching and learning experience. Assessment should be varied and ongoing (formative), yet there are certainly times where assessment is a culmination of learning (summative).

We utilize a variety of assessments, both teacher-created and district-designed; beyond these types of classroom assessments, there are state and national exams such as the NWEA MAP, PSSA, Keystone Exams, etc. that are administered as well.

This district- and student-level assessment data is analyzed by teachers to better design their lessons, improve their instructional practice, and provide remediation or acceleration for students where needed.  Additionally, assessment data is utilized by the Administration to strengthen and enhance overall instructional programming and curricular development.
