Attention ESL Students. We will be hosting a representative from LaSalle University's BUSCA Program to speak with students whose primary language is Spanish. The BUSCA Program serves motivated Spanish -dominant students to help them work towards a degree at LaSalle University. The presentation will be on Wednesday, November 28 at 10 AM. Please sign up in the School Counseling Office to reserve your spot for the presentation.
Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors! Please sign up in Naviance to meet with a Student Ambassador from Yale University on Friday, January 4 at 9:45 AM. This Ambassador from Yale can offer a first-hand perspective of the college admissions process and his experiences at Yale University.
Academically Talented Sophomores and Juniors- Would you like to spend a month on a college campus working with other like-minded students? Announcing wonderful summer opportunities in Global Entrepreneurship, Health Career and Agricultural Science (formally Governor’s School Programs). Applications accepted until February 1, 2019- but students are encouraged to apply early. Cost varies. Please see your counselor for further details.
Attention academically talented juniors interested in the math and sciences: announcing the Pennsylvania Governor’s School for the Sciences hosted by the Mellon College of Science at Carnegie Mellon University. This is a unique summer opportunity for students looking to pursue a career in the STEM-related fields. Must complete the application by early January. If interested, please see your counselor for further information.
SENIORS! The Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program recognizes students for their community service, academic performance and leadership skills. To learn more go to Naviance or apply at https://learnmore.scholarsapply.org/leadersandachievers. Deadline to apply is December 7, 2018.
Juniors! Check out the Coolidge Scholarship that has been posted to Naviance. This is a full-ride, four-year, merit scholarship that may be used by recipients for undergraduate study at any accredited College or university in the United States. You can also access the scholarship site at www.coolidgescholars.org.

Attention National Art Honor Society members - there will be a meeting Thursday after school. Please be there!
Key Club members please see Mrs. Harper any day after school this week to pick up your t-shirt. The next meeting is this Monday November 19 and we would like to take a club picture wearing your shirts.

It's the season to give thanks! Take time to show gratitude and kindness by sending Gratitude Grams! The STRENGTH Club is happy to help you spread positivity by delivering your Gratitude Grams to friends, teachers, and/or staff at WTHS. A Gratitude Gram is a thoughtful message with a sweet treat attached; it's a token of appreciation or a wonderful way to show you care. Gratitude Grams will be sold during lunches from 11/9 to 11/16. You can purchase three for just $1.00! Gratitude Grams are available for all grade levels to purchase. They will be delivered on 11/19. So surprise a friend, make a teacher smile, send a sweet treat and message to your sweetie, or remind someone of how much you appreciate them with Gratitude Grams! The STRENGTH Club is grateful for your support!
The annual Powderpuff football game and halftime spectacular will be held on Thursday, November 15 at 7 PM at the stadium. Tickets will be sold at all lunches on Wednesday and Thursday for $5 each. Tickets at the game will be sold for $8 each. Proceeds from the game will be given to Kisses for Kyle, which supports local families who have children with cancer. Come out and support this worthy cause. Good luck to the over 300 senior and junior players, cheerleaders and coaches!
The Environmental Club will be getting Fly Tying lessons from Trout Unlimited in Room C103. This will happen on 2 Fridays: Nov. 30 & Dec. 14. You must sign up by Thursday, November 15 meeting so we can prepare for the lessons. Sign up at an Enviro Club meeting on Thursdays at 2:30 in C103. Check out our trout while you are with us!
Attention Seniors, William Tennent FBLA Club is running a Class of 2019 Senior Shirt Flash Sale. To see the t-shirts available and place an online order, visit the 12th-grade Canvas page and look for a Senior Shirt announcement with a link to the online store. Cash orders will also be accepted at all lunches November 13-15. T-Shirts are $15 and all online orders must be placed by November 18.
Girls Basketball Tryouts will begin Friday, November 16 from 4:30 PM-6:30 PM. All girls are welcome to tryout as long as they have completed a PIAA physical and a concussion baseline test. Any questions please stop into the Athletic Office across from the gym. See you there!
Trumark Financial will be introducing a new promotion where you can guess the weight of a pumpkin and win a $25 dollar iTunes gift card. Simply stop by the branch during any lunch hours, feel how much you think the pumpkin weighs, and write down your guess for a chance to win. Whoever has the closest answer without going over the actual weight by November 30 will receive the $25 dollar gift card. Also, congratulations to the winner of the Kiki challenge promotion Brendan Volpe. Please stop by to collect your $25 dollar gift card during any lunch period.
There will be a Ski & Snowboard Club meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 14 in C215 at 2:30 PM. Clothing orders are due on Nov. 19. There are a few spots left for the trips this year. Get your bus deposit and permission forms in before it fills up!
