VITA Winter/Spring Registration

Free Adult Classes in ESL, GED Preparation and Basic Reading, Writing and Math

Vita Education Services offers free English as a Second Language (ESL) and Adult Basic Education (ABE) instruction at William Tennent High School.  Vita classes are offered free of charge to eligible adults.

ESL classes are designed for beginner to high intermediate skill level language learners.  Small ESL groups are designed for advanced language learners. Classes and small groups help students understand, speak, read and write in English, as well as learn about American culture, history, and government. 

ABE classes and small groups are designed to provide High School Equivalency preparation (GED and HiSET), academic skills training and support for college and employment entry, as well as, basic skills training in reading, writing and math.  ABE classes are also open to non-native adult students who demonstrate an appropriate level of proficiency in speaking and understanding English to benefit from academic instruction.

 

Class Schedule: Mondays and Wednesdays, 6:30 – 9:00 pm, from January to May.

Potential students MUST attend orientation/registration and placement testing in order to attend Vita classes. Space is limited.

Registration and testing information: Please be on time and leave children at home

 

ESL Classes and Small Groups:

Orientation/Registration/ Testing (2.5 hours total): January 2nd, 6:30pm

(Since this is the second semester of classes, space is very limited due to the number of returning students.)

 

ABE and GED Preparation Classes and Small Groups:

Orientation/Registration (2.5 hours total):  January 7th, 6:30 to 9

Testing (3 hours total): January 9th, 6pm to 9
