Volunteer Procedures & Clearances

Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer with Centennial School District. Volunteers are an integral part of the classroom and we encourage parents and community members to get involved. Before starting your application, please review the below information and the guidelines outlined in CSD Policy 916 for Visitors and Volunteers by clicking HERE.

Visitor Information:

Visitor is defined as: A parent/guardian, adult resident, educator, or other individual who is not a school employee or independent contractor, and who visits a school or attends or participates in an event or activity at a school, but whose role is less substantial than would be sufficient to meet the definition of volunteer. [1]
*NOTE-
Visitors must check in at school site with a valid driver’s license or state issued ID

Volunteer Information

Volunteer is defined as:An adult, whose role is more than that of a visitor, who voluntarily offers a service to the District without receiving compensation from the District. A volunteer is not a school employee. [10]

The two (2) classifications of volunteers are:

  1. Position Volunteer - an adult applying for or holding an unpaid position with a school or a program, activity or service, as a person responsible for the child’s welfare or having direct volunteer contact with children. Examples include, but are not limited to, field trip chaperones, tutors, coaches, activity advisor, recess or library aides, etc.

  2. Guest Volunteer (Helper) - an adult who voluntarily provides a service to the District, without compensation, who: (1) works directly under the supervision and direction of a school administrator, a teacher or other member of the school staff; and (2) does not have direct volunteer contact. Examples include, but are not limited to, volunteering to assist in classroom celebrations, school assemblies, or school concerts; reading to students; collecting tickets at sporting events; working concession stands; participating in “Career Day,” etc.

What paperwork do I need to complete in order to volunteer?

Four documents are required.

  • Volunteer Disclosure Form - All volunteers must have a Volunteer Disclosure form on file with the Human Resources Department.

  • Act 114 FBI Federal Criminal History Report- Please use the following DHS service code when applying for the FBI clearance: 1KG6ZJ. This is a change from the PDE volunteer service code that was in use prior to January 2023. This change is not retroactive, so individuals who hold current clearances do not need to obtain new clearances until they are due. All individuals who apply for new FBI Volunteer Clearances will use the new system, whether they are new volunteers or need to renew their clearances for any reason. The PDE Volunteer Service Code is no longer available.

  • Act 151 Child Abuse History Clearance - Free for initial application or every 57 months for volunteers (Online registration)

  • Act 34 State Police Criminal History Report - Free for initial application or every 57 months for volunteers (Online registration)

  • TB Test - All volunteers who are in direct contacts with students 10 or more hours per week must submit the results of a TB test in accordance with the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

*NOTE- All new Volunteers must have clearances dated within the year. Continuing volunteers need to renew clearances every 57 months.

How do I submit my paperwork?

Beginning with the 2022 school year, Centennial School District will be using Raptor Volunteer Management System to provide a more efficient and effective process to verify and track volunteer clearances. Before you click the link below to begin your volunteer application, please ensure that you have read the guidelines outlined in CSD Policy 916 and have all clearances stated above accessible so that you can upload them during the application process.

  • Once submitted, clearances will continue to be verified by the volunteer coordinator. Approval can take as long as one week.

  • The submitted clearances must be the correct required documents. If a submitted clearance is one that we do not accept, it will result in a delay to volunteer.

  • Once approved, volunteers will receive an email via Raptor system. Volunteers will also receive an email from Raptor when their clearances are about to expire. The emails will automatically be generated 30 days prior to expiration.

*NOTE - If you don't have computer access you can drop your clearances off at the Admin building (located at 48 Swan Way. Warminster, PA 18974) Monday-Friday 9:00am to 3:00p.m. Fax to 215 441-6101.
