His experience, plans, and ideas elevated him to the top of the many candidates the Board reviewed and interviewed. We are truly looking forward to Dr. Lucabaugh’s leadership, knowledge, and commitment to our students. We are excited to welcome Dr. Lucabaugh and to partner with him as we continue working together on behalf of our students and staff.”

Statement from Dr. Lucabaugh: The opportunity to serve as your next superintendent in Centennial is a privilege and an honor, and I would like to thank the Centennial Board of School Directors for their faith in me. We have important work ahead of us, and I’m confident that together, we can build an environment of excellence where every student has access, opportunity and choice to become the best version of themselves.

Throughout my career, I’ve witnessed firsthand the transformative power of education in the lives of students. I want every one of our students in Centennial to discover their potential and rise far beyond what they thought possible. I want our families to know our schools are places of safety, support, and growth, and that their children are leaving our schools ready to make a difference in a world that needs them. Finally, I want our community to be proud of our school district, and believe in our teachers, our staff, and our administration as they work to make the lives and experiences of our students extraordinary. To ensure every child receives the education they deserve, I am asking for your help. In the months ahead, I will host forums with the purpose of listening intently, learning your priorities, and engaging in honest conversations. I want to know what is important to our students, our families, our employees, and our community. I want to know what we are doing well, where we can grow, and what we must consider as we move forward. Most importantly, I want to get to know as many of you as possible, hear your stories, and build the relationships that will lead to positive outcomes for the young men and women we serve. With a shared commitment to do whatever it takes to cause learning, anything is possible. I’m excited to begin working with you and for you to empower students in Centennial, and I look forward to meeting all of you.

Community Forum: The Centennial School District Board of School Directors (the Board) invites all community members to attend a Community Forum introducing Dr. Lucabaugh on Thursday, May 22, 2025, beginning with a student showcase at 6 p.m. in the auditorium of Log College Middle School located at 730 N. Norristown Rd., Warminster, PA 18974. In addition to introductory remarks from Dr. Lucabaugh and student performances, the Community Forum will have a question-and-answer period facilitated by Dr. Mark Hoffman, Executive Director of the Bucks County Intermediate Unit (Bucks IU). The Board welcomes input from district stakeholders on which themes should be covered in the questions presented to Dr. Lucabaugh. Community members are invited to submit up to two (2) questions for consideration through the following survey: https://bucksiu.net/CSD_CommunityForum2025. Questions may be submitted up until 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2025. Submitted questions will be consolidated by common themes by the facilitator to allow for Dr. Lucabaugh to address the maximum number of topics possible during this Community Forum. The format for the evening does not provide an opportunity for questions or comments from the audience during the forum itself. Instead, all questions must be submitted in advance using the link above. Dr. Lucabaugh will receive a copy of all submitted questions. The Board has chosen this format to ensure that the maximum number of questions can be asked by the moderator in the time allotted.

Background on the Superintendent Search Process: The Board began their search process in January 2025, engaging the Bucks IU to serve as its search consultant. On behalf of the Board, the Bucks IU conducted vision exercises with various Board-selected stakeholder groups to understand the key traits and characteristics they were looking for in their next Superintendent. In addition, the Bucks IU also distributed a community survey from February 17, 2025, through February 28, 2025, to identify the community’s opinions and priorities. More than 254 parents, guardians, taxpayers, students, staff, and other community members responded to the survey, offering feedback on the ideal characteristics and attributes of the future superintendent. The survey also captured what the community believes to be the district’s priorities for the immediate and long-term future. The survey results were shared with the community on the district website and through district communication channels. As the search consultant, the Bucks IU facilitated a comprehensive search process, actively recruiting qualified candidates and advertising the position in local, regional, state, and national publications. The position was advertised from March 5, 2025, through March 23, 2025. Thirty-two candidates applied for the position hailing not only from Pennsylvania but also Arizona,Delaware, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, Virgina, and Wisconsin. All decisions relating to interviews and candidate selection rested solely with the Centennial Board of School Directors. The Board thoroughly reviewed all the candidate applications and selected seven applicants to move forward to a first round of interviews. Following these initial interviews, the Board invited three applicants back for a second, increasingly rigorous round of questioning which also required the candidates to complete writing exercises and prepare presentations relevant to district priorities. Key members of the staff and community were also invited to a “Meet and Greet” session with Dr. Lucabaugh as well. A majority of the Board agreed to authorize the district’s solicitor to negotiate an employment agreement with Dr. Lucabaugh to serve as the district’s next superintendent.
