What a great turnout last night at William Tennent High School! 🎓
We had over 75 colleges, universities, and trade schools, along with various US Military branches, in attendance for our College Fair. It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to visit and speak directly with representatives from so many post-secondary institutions.
Prior to the fair, we also hosted a presentation for parents of our Grade 11 students. We focused on the post-secondary process and how families can support their students from start to finish. Attendees were provided with a timeline and essential information to help guide them through career exploration and future education options.
Thank you to all the representatives, students, and parents who made yesterday evening such a success!

Third-grade students from across the district recently visited the Huf Planetarium at William Tennent High School to experience Earth, Moon & Sun, a show that explores how our planet, moon, and sun work together as a system. Through Native American storytelling and the humorous character Coyote, students learned to distinguish between myth and science while deepening their understanding of our solar system.
As an extension activity, students learned about constellations and designed their own to take home, further connecting science, storytelling, and creativity.
This experience directly supports the Grade 3 Wit & Wisdom Outer Space unit, reinforcing students’ learning about the sun, moon, stars, and Earth’s place in the universe.

Fifth-grade gifted support students at Willow Dale recently collaborated on a real-world service learning project. After developing a persuasive presentation about the benefits of a classroom pet, the students successfully convinced Principal Gill to approve a Willow Dale pet.
Principal Gill then challenged the group to organize a fundraiser to cover the cost of the pet and necessary supplies. After careful research and thoughtful deliberation, the students decided to hold a popcorn fundraiser.
Throughout the process, students worked collaboratively to create both paper and digital flyers, monitor sales, manage inventory, organize orders, and distribute popcorn to students.
Thank you to the Willow Dale community for supporting this student endeavour. The 115 bags of popcorn ordered helped make this project a success!
Stay tuned for the exciting announcement of the Willow Dale pet!
