Executive Summary - CSD/PDE

Teaching and Learning - Some of the WHY

In an ongoing effort for communication and transparency, the Office of Teaching and Learning is sharing the PDE and CSD Timeline of Influences on Student Academic Performance below.

This document provides an executive summary of the many developments that have come from the Pennsylvania Department of Education during the past 15 years, how the Centennial School District responded to those developments, and how those responses and other influences - both internal and external - have impacted our current student academic performance. In addition, recent and ongoing District efforts to improve student growth and achievement are presented.

This information was pulled from prior internal records, prior board meetings, and conversations with staff that have been here throughout this timeframe. To the best of our knowledge, this information is accurate and reliable.

As was shared in prior updates to the Board, Faculty and Staff, and Community (through the CSD Weekly), during Dr. Bedden's transition to CSD in September 2020, the leadership team started identifying the WHY regarding the current student outcomes in CSD.

The goal has been and continues to be focused on creating a system that supports continuous improvement and growth for both students and staff. CSD's current performance level did not occur overnight.

In the spirit of transparency and for an initial, baseline look at our performance, as well as ongoing updates on how we have been progressing and growing, please see the Board presentations on the Status of Student Academic Performance in CSD below.
